If you think that your penis is too small, be sure to measure it accurately. Even if it is shorter than average, it's important to place the size of your penis in context and ask yourself why it is causing you such distress. It sometimes helps to speak with a psychologist who can help you sort through your feelings and provide the perspective you need.
A fairly common way for surgeons to add volume in such areas of the body as the face and butt, fat grafting is also an option for the penis. Dr. Tim Neavin, a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, California, says that some surgeons have been doing penile fat transfer (also called composite augmentation phalloplasty) for decades. In this technique, a surgeon takes fat from the belly or inner thighs and injects it into the penis to increase girth.
Some men seek injections of natural and synthetic fillers to increase the girth of the penis. Others seek surgery if a smaller penis size or penile abnormality (like hypospadias) is interfering with the ability to urinate or quality of life. Small penis size usually is not an indication for surgery to treat infertility. In such cases, assisted fertility procedures may be the better option.
• Eat less meat and cheese, and more fruits the vegetables. A diet high in animal fat raises cholesterol, which narrows the arteries, including those that carry blood into the penis. Try going a day or two a week without meat or cheese. And eat five to eight daily servings of fruits and vegetables. They contain antioxidants that help keep the arteries open.
“My advice to men is that before they try any potions, creams, pumps or surgery, improve your technique. You will feel more confident and women will like you a lot more, at least in the bedroom,” says Dr. David Shusterman, MD, the Medical Director of NY Urology. A lot of men don't invest money into the right products that will improve the outcomes. “At every Duane Reade they have what I call a penis enhancement pack; it includes a penis ring with a vibrator on it. The pack is $10 and it will achieve what the men want to achieve without going through surgery,” says Dr. Shusterman. A lot of men want enhancement but it tends to only hurt your sex life, not help. “Most guys regret going through surgical enhancement,” says Dr. Shusterman.
A penis enlargement procedure may be indicated for a man who has experienced penile trauma or has a medical disorder that affects the function of the penis. In cases where penis size affects fertility or quality of life, penis enlargement may be considered under the direction of a urologist. These include surgical procedures known as penile augmentation (a.k.a. augmentation phalloplasty).
